Yes the outrage continue to roll right along. As I walked the pups this morning around the quarter, I did my normal Times Pic purchase and settled down with a cup of chickory coffee and a cigarette. Normally, I pour into the sports section first, I am a man ya know. Well somedays I am. Other days Im a ghost but I’m getting off track. I passed on the sports page this morning because of this story.

That’s right, Our Mayor, the dis-honarable C Ray Nagin has been taking his wifey out to lunch on the taxpayer’s dime. On their anniversary. Isn’t that sweet. Happy Anniversary Ray and Mrs. Ray!!!! From me, since I think my tax dollars paid for your appetizer. Or your dessert. One of the two since I am single, I only give a lil of my hard earned money to City Hall.

I’m in charge of my companies credit card. It stays in my pocket unless I need to purchase something for work. Not for my own grumbling stomach. I would be out of a job if I decided to take someone out to lunch that was my wife or significant other. Shouldn’t the same be done for “public servants”. Hahahaha, I’m sorry, this story is so sickening that I can’t control my laughter. My oh my what fools the citizens of New Orleans are. Trust me, I’m including myself in that number.

We run a “liner” on the radio station of Mayor Nagin saying…” You’ve been hoodwinked and bamboozled”. Yes C Ray, we sure have. Every single day you show up to work is another hoodwinked and bamboozled day in NOLA.

I’ve got a ton going on at the radio station, moving studios and stuff and didn’t really pay attention to the rest of the news today. Until WIST Radio’s afternoon host Eric Asher started his show today. The LA State legislators passed a bill two days ago giving themselves a rather HUGE raise. It took them 3 minutes to pass the hat and boost their pay. Yet we can’t get them to do anything else.

I am against a pay raise for legislators. I know the BASE pay is very low. But I also know that they receive 143.00 per day for expenses. And they also receive a 6000$ use as you need it account. Plus free lodging while the legislature is in session. Plus they have control of their own business/careers etc. This is not a full time job frankly and while it may seem like it to them, it’s not. The last state in this country that should be paying it’s legislature 95k a year is Louisiana.

Frankly though, I didn’t think this would be a big deal. You know why? Because I thought Gov Bobby Jindal would have the balls to veto the bill. Well guess what all you Joe and Janes….Gov Jindal has stated that he will not veto this pay raise. The reason is because some legislators “threatened” to not support Gov. Jindal’s agenda, telling him in essence if you veto this bill we will not support any legislation you propose.

Politics as usual in Louisiana. Geezz Bobby, I thought you might stay out of the muck at least through your first year. If I didn’t love my job and city so much I would bail on all of you bloodsuckers. All of you are frauds. While the Louisiana coastline rots away, you pieces of shit vote yourself a raise. People all over south Lousiana are suffering and you lying freaking cockroaches are only worried about your own pocketbook. Hate is a horrible word but right now I hate them all. And I will never vote for any of you thieves again. Not that any of you jokers have gotten a vote from me anyway.

New Orleans is Doomed Wednesday, May 28 2008

It’s doomed week here on the Frazier Blog. Yesterday was a little something something about America’s need for a News Network that is “black” focused. Just ridiculous. But there is more foolishness going on in America’s favorite dumping ground, NOLA.

The metro area suffered a great loss last week because of the lack of jerk-offs doing their job. NOPD officer Tommy Felix died while driving to work over a week ago. It was around 3:30 in the morning and Officer Felix was driving on the Claiborne Avenue drawbridge when his vehicle plunged off the bridge into the Industrial Canal, killing Officer Felix.

When I refer to the “jerk-offs” not doing their job, it might be an insult to normal everyday jerk-offs. Here is my problem or one of them anyway. The bridge and its mechanics have been broken for over ten years. The bridge is designed to have a steel barrier come down to block lanes while the drawbridge goes up. The bridge also has a “second” barrier that was not lowered due to operator error. Obviously the barrier that has been inoperable for 10 years is one issue while the operator error is another. Well to most people it is. But not the great feeble worthless state of Louisiana. The state is already spinning this as “well it’s all the operator’s fault”. Uhhh no it is not. The states failure to have this problem corrected, for over ten years now, is yet another example of the fraud that elected officials have brought upon the good hardworking people of New Orleans and Louisiana. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the bridge has not had lights since Katrina and the State DOT (Dept of Transportation) has done nothing about that either.

As a side note, has anyone heard Mayor Nagin asking for someone, anyone, to get their ass down here and fix the bridge? Nah, people dying in New Orleans keeps the brand out there ya know.

Speaking of his worthlessness, he is the real reason I think New Orleans is doomed. Why you ask? It’s the things that are not spoken about that make me feel this way. Here are the big three from the last week:

The City Council wants to change the way Sewage and Water Board members do their jobs. The council feels that on a board as important as this one, should have engineers and others who deal with the type of issues that we are confronting. You know, like water leaks throughout the city that are sending good clean water basically to waste because the system is crumbling. You know little things like that. Well the Mayor is basically president of the S&W board. And Mayor Nagin does not want any changes on the board. Basically he wants to use it for what it is used currently. A politically appointed board that does nothing but waste taxpayer funds while the system crumbles. Here’s an example for you: Rev. Ben Edwards is a member of the S&W Board. Yes he is a Pastor. He also paid for billboards in Houston, Atlanta, Jackson and other cities with high numbers of displaced residents, asking for New Orleanians to come on home and vote for Mayor Nagin in the 06 election. I’m sure though that the Rev knows all about sewage and water. No need for an engineer, someone, who is actually qualified, when we’ve got the Reverend to pray over our broken water system.

The riverfront of New Orleans is one of the city’s untapped jewels. Rarely is there a spot on the river that is in use for the public. Wharves, wasted city buildings etc basically uses the riverfront currently. Well use is not the right word. They are just there; the riverfront in New Orleans is basically wasted at this point. Many local organizations have worked on developing the riverfront after Katrina. All with the idea of doing it right, not huge condos on the river etc, just use for the public. Parks, bikeways etc…Some real beauty in a beautiful city. Oh wait, Mayor Nagin is against it, meaning no money for this idea has landed in his wallet yet. So with the Mayor against it, it’s done. Finished. Until the Mayor figures out how he can make RayRay a little extra spending money.

I am not going to go to deep into the other deal. Basically it deals with the filthy disgusting NOLA airport. The state has made overtures to take the airport off the city’s hands. It’s a very wise deal in my opinion which would need to be tweaked etc to work for all parties (NOLA, State and Kenner) but it can and should be done. The airport is also a haven for politically connected losers (i.e. Pampy Barre’) to get their city contracts that are twice what any other city would pay to skim money off the taxpayers again. Yeah you guessed it; the Mayor is against this move as well.

No explanations for his ass-holiness on any of these. Just a misspelled, mistyped one pager from his 175,000$ a year press secretary. Yes folks, as long as this ass is Mayor of New Orleans, we are doomed

Reading the headlines Tuesday, Apr 29 2008

Some good stuff came our way today. I bitched about this awhile back and I am one thrilled New Orleanian that we have gotten a Presidential Debate to come to NOLA!! Leave it to the “new media” to get it done. Thank goodness. Again, I cannot wait for John McCain to bumble around here telling everyone how committed the Republicans are to “rebuilding”. Nor can I wait for the winner of the other two losers to come down here and lie to our faces about how much “they” have done for the recovery. Now I guess we just have to wait to see if both party’s candidates will actually show up.

On other local stuff, two things really have stuck out lately. First, and this news has not been covered yet because the radio station is the first one to go with the story. The New Orleans recovery department is going through a “re-organization”. The 17 targeted recovery zones are now….wait for it…..DONE. No more targeted recovery zones. Now the recovery department will focus on blight in Districts A, B, C & D. Please note that District E is not mentioned. District E is New Orleans East. Yeah the area that suffered more destruction than any other area. No focus on blight there? And another thing, it’s been 3 freaking years and the office of recovery is just now figuring out that blight might need to be focused on? Katrina was a real disaster but the government of New Orleans post Katrina is starting to look worse than anything a hurricane did to us.

The other thing that got my blood boiling was to hear that former New Orleans Mayor Marc Morial and his family are up in arms because of a name change to a city owned building. Marc’s dad Ernest Morial or Dutch, basically got the convention center built during his time in office. The convention center is named Ernest Morial Convention Center. Nothing wrong with that but times change. Needs change. The group running the convention center decided that New Orleans needed to be spotlighted in trying to sell the center to group looking for convention space. That’s just smart business frankly.

Well Marc Morial and his clan don’t see it that way. The newly named New Orleans Morial Convention Center has received a letter from Marc and the clan dealing with the name change. He has accused the convention center of trying to ruin his father’s good name by changing the name and trying to get more business to the city.

I find it interesting how a man who is under investigation for years of corruption while being Mayor can say that a name change is ruining his father’s good name. You know what Marc? You RUINED his good name years ago with your corrupt ways. YOU ruined the good things your father did for this city because you were a freaking disaster as Mayor. How everyone in this city looks at you and knows you were lining your pockets off the hard working people of New Orleans. What a FRAUD you are Marc Morial.

Last but not least, if you care about this city as much as you say you do, then you should KNOW that we must do whatever we can to bring business back to New Orleans. Even if it meant naming the convention center the FREE DRINKS FOR EVERYONE CENTER.

Tough times Monday, Apr 28 2008

I awoke Saturday morning to the headline that the Head of the FBI in New Orleans, Jim Bernazzani, a man who has lead the fight against corruption in New Orleans was being shipped out of town. The radio station has had him on as a guest almost weekly since we returned to the airwaves after Katrina. He has always been straight forward with us and we really admired him and his efforts.

At some point last week, he spoke with two TV stations about a possible desire to run for Mayor in 2010. (Boy we need someone like him running this city). Well the FBI’ers in DC did not take too kindly to that and shut it down. And shipped him out. It’s not really my place to tell the FBI how to run their biz, but I can say that this is NOT what the city needed right now. The last thing New Orleans needs is shipping out a guy who has done nothing but fight to get this situation straight. And that is all Jim has done.

I understand the conflict of interest. I understand that you cannot go after corrupt politicians while being one yourself. But that’s the thing. Jim never said he was running, just said that he was THINKING about running. I’m thinking about a Big Mac for lunch, does that mean I am getting a Big Mac? No it does not.

The guy is almost 65. He will be forced to retire soon anyway. While I understand the FBI shipping Mr. Bernazzani out of here, I don’t have to like it. And I don’t like it. We are in the fight of our lives in and for New Orleans and we need all hands on deck, especially from people who actually care. And Jim, if nothing else, cares deeply about this city.

Let’s hope we see Jim again in the future. Maybe on a yard sign, saying Vote for Jim Bernazzani- Mayor

Pucker Up Wednesday, Mar 12 2008

The bouquets for Donald Powell have been flowing since the White House Recovery Czar for the Gulf Coast announced that he would be stepping down from the position. I have to say I don’t get the love-fest of the last two weeks. From Senators to Media outlets, the constant kissing of Mr. Powell’s ass is sickening.This is not about Mr. Powell being a nice guy. It’s not about him waking up one morning and finally understanding that the Worst President Ever was and has been a complete fraud when it comes to his desire to help New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region. I will allow that the Grinch did grow a heart after being down here and seeing the way that the United States government has mis-handled the situation from day one. But that does not give Mr. Powell a pass on his inability to get things moving forward from a federal standpoint.

With all of the accolades flowing in op-ed pieces and press releases, no one seemed willing to point out the obvious. The banker from Texas was nothing more than a White House mouthpiece, spouting Republican talking point after Republican talking point. The radio station had Mr. Powell on as a guest many times in the early stages of the “recovery”. We finally called an end to it when all he could do is keep saying how important the recovery of New Orleans was to the President, when those of us with our feet on the ground here knew that was a flat out lie to the citizens of New Orleans.

If Mr. Powell was such a wonderful recovery czar, where is the FEMA money to START rebuilding the infrastructure of this city, two and a half years after the fact? Why is the city of New Orleans still bickering with FEMA about what potholes they will or will not pay to fix? If Mr. Powell was such an advocate for this city, why were people living in formaldehyde laced trailers for the last year, when everyone knew something was wrong with them? Why is this city still fighting about the Stafford Act if Mr. Powell had the ear of the Worst President Ever? Why hasn’t Mr. Powell ever stood up and said that the Feds need to get off their ass and get some crap done here?

I know the answer to those questions. If you live here or if you even pay attention from afar, the answer is pretty clear. Mr. Powell didn’t have New Orleans and the Gulf Coast back; he was covering the Worst President Ever backside before he ever thought of the Gulf Coast and New Orleans.

Ray Nagin is really a Vagina Tuesday, Mar 11 2008

Yeah you right New Orleans! First he was Crazy Ray and the Chocolate Factory. Then he was “keeping” the New Orleans brand out there by supporting killing each other. Recently he was on a local TV morning show talking about how the Arayan nation was out to get him because the local newspaper had published a photo of him mistakenly pointing a AK-47 at Police Chief Warren Riley.

 Now the audio is hitting the media about Mayor Nagin’s comments at the opening of “The Vagina Monlogues”.

Our Mayor, C. Ray Nagin has let us all know that he is a “Vagina friendly Mayor”. Well that’s good to know Ray, but just remove the friendly from your comments and that’s the kind of Mayor you really are. Our Vagina Mayor, C Ray Nagin.

What about the groups that are not “vagina friendly”? What about the gay folks? I saw that Naked Boys Dancing is being performed at the Marigny Theatre. Are you a butt crack friendly Mayor as well Ray? C’mon man, look at this play. It’s solid. It’s been 5 years and New York still has a hole in the ground, or something to that effect. C’mon Ray, show your ass some more please.

The Debate about the Debates Tuesday, Mar 11 2008

The citizens of New Orleans have been dealt some really bad hands in the last two and a half years. I am not going to go on and on about who or what has been dealing the cards. If your even remotely paying attention to this country and New Orleans, you already know the players.

One of the most disappointing “hands” that the city has received was from the Commission for Presidential Debates. The city of New Orleans attempted to secure one of three debates for the 2008 Presidental Election. The thinking was, what other city in this country was a better example of the issues and problems confronting this country in the years to come. Seriously, the ten to twenty year rebuilding this city is facing is a perfect backdrop for the issues confronting America. Or so we down in this part of the country thought. The Commission thought otherwise. They thought lil ole Oxford MS was a better place to hold the debate. The reason they gave was that New Orleans was “not ready” to handle a presidential debate. And Oxford, with it’s one stop light and 300 hotel rooms was? What fraud. Clearly the Commission didn’t want New Orleans as a host because of one Dubya. The Commission is/was suppose to be neutral when it came to political parties but clearly the agenda was ” let’s not make either party look bad”.

If you have ever read some of my past post on New Orleans Metroblogging, you know that I frankly dislike both the Republicans and the Democrats. They do nothing but divide the American people. They play games with peoples lives and with their heads. They are power hungry frauds who are not looking out for you or for me, they look out for their own power only. I do not care what party would “look bad” with a debate being held in this city, I care about the truth, something we never get from the so-called leaders.

I’m glad to report that Governor Jindal and Lt. Governor Landrieu must agree with me. They are attempting to get around the Debate Commission, going straight after McCain, Obama and Clinton to commit to a debate in New Orleans no matter what the Commission has set up to this point. I say finally and more power to them. We have seen these candidates come down here and talk some game already. McCain came thru recently to try and suck some money out of people’s pockets. Obama was here during the Louisiana Primary, lying to everyone about how he will rebuild New Orleans all by his lonesome. And I think both Bill and Hill have passed thru, sharing with us that if not for them, our recovery would never have started because they secured all the funds we need down here. What a crock of do-do.

Let’s hope that Bobby and Mitch are successful. I can’t wait to see McCain stumble and bumble his way through any discussion about New Orleans. I’d love to hear either Hill or Barrack tell the rest of the country about how much money their administrations would throw down New Orleans way.

And for the Commission on Presidential Debates, I’m not sure you noticed but in the first two months of 08, this city has hosted a Sugar Bowl that brought in 80,000 fans, a National Championship College Football game that drew around 125,000 people to the city, maybe the greatest NBA All-Star game weekend in the history of the NBA and oh yeah, I almost forgot, yet another Mardi Gras. But the city of New Orleans isn’t ready for a event like a Presidential Debate. A event that may draw 5000 people. Hmmmm, what was going on in Oxford MS for the first two months of the year?

This and That Saturday, Jul 7 2007

Is Paris Hilton out of jail yet? I’ve been a little overwhelmed lately, backed up on the “News” of this country sometimes.I read in an article about recovery at an Essence Festival forum that OUR MAYOR, C. Ray Nagin stated that he was getting worn out dealing with the recovery. Hmmm, we’ve got 3 more years of this kat and he’s worn out. That’s just too fucking rich. Like a dark chocolate Hershey bar.Essence weekend was a blast. I sat at the third floor window and just watched the mass of people streaming through the French Market. Thank goodness for a crowd in New Orleans summertime. Too bad the towing trucks were out in full force. Interesting how vehicles with Texas, Florida, Mississippi, Alabama and Texas license plates were towed before ANY local one was. Especially considering that 95% of the cars were parked LEGALLY. Maybe that’s wearing C. Ray out, taking tourist cash in what basically amounts to a towing scam.

Senator David Vitter. Man you were supposed to be one of the good guys. Even though your family values stance made and continues to make me puke. It is nice though that the Madam of the Canal Street Brothel says Mr. Vitter was a very nice John. Isn’t that special. Good to know he could treat his whores right.

Beware those who want to legislate the way YOU choose to live YOUR life. On either side of the political spectrum. Let me live my life the way I want politicians. Keep your runny ass noses out of my biz, spend my tax money decently and we’ll get along fine. Tell me who I should sleep with and I’m gonna slap that Giddeons bible right outta your hand.

I think the thing that makes me even sicker is the stance some take regarding Mr. Vitter. These are the same people who screamed for President Bill Clinton’s mmmm head on a platter. Bill Clinton got a BJ from an intern….Boo Bad President getting licky licky….Hoo-Ray Senator going to a whorehouse. I mean what’s the difference here folks? Remember prostitution is ILLEGAL in this country. Except in Nevada and Washington DC obviously.

Marc Morial is taking the Bill Jefferson high ground. Asked by Ch. 4 TV to comment on his peeps getting years upon years in prison for financial schemes during his administration, Morial didn’t offer anything other than maybe someday in the distant (meaning 2089) future he’ll offer a honorable explanation. Yeah his ass is gonna get rung up too, just a matter of time. God Bless Jim Letten.

You may not like it but I could care less. The Jefferson Family might be America’s most corrupt family of all time. These criminals and yes they are criminals, have been scamming and stealing from this city, state and nation for 20 years. And basically in every imaginable way. Anyone drive by the 10k building Mose Jefferson claimed in insurance papers was worth 650k? Then rented one room out to family friend and Former City councilwoman Renee Gill-Pratt for 1800 a month as a satellite office? It’s basically a crack house. That you and I were paying for due to the scams these criminals have been running in New Orleans for 20 years. Just unreal.

The murders have gotten out of control again. I think one day we had 4 in 5 hours or something crazy like that. A couple things here. It’s not funny but it is. We can’t keep a correct count of murders this year. 5 different sources have 5 different counts. Some news media, some government agencies. Is New Orleans that dysfunctional right now that we can even add up the bullet ridden bodies?

Two weekends ago after another bad mojo of shootings, stabbings and beatings, Silence is Violence set up another march on City Hall. The last march attracted close to 5000 peeps. That was after the murder of filmmaker Helen Hill. This march attracted about 30 people. I guess without a white mother or a local musician getting shot no one gives a crap. Oh it’s just young black men killing each other. I’d rather sit on the couch and watch re-runs of Morgus seems to be the line of thinking around here.

Remember the 5 youngsters gunned down in Central City that was also one of the contributing factors to the large turnout to the first rally? D.A. Eddie Jordan, or Special ED as we call him at the station, has passed on that case. Yeah seems a witness checked out (or was gunned down, seeing as we can’t keep track around here who knows?) so Special ED said, yeah here’s one for the feds. So some murderer gets away with murder. Again. If it didn’t make my migraines worse I’d ram my baldhead against his just to see if I could get him to do his fucking job.

I have been gorging myself on Taqueria’s since the racist Jefferson Parish council decided to run these good legal immigrants outta town. Why isn’t the Jefferson Parish council more concerned about removing the illegal immigrants from the area’s street corners? How about enforcing the laws you yahoos wrote already instead of writing new ones? Just a thought.

Returning the parish to normal was the reason given to ban the Taco Trucks. That my friend is a joke. Blue Tarps remind me of Katrina. I demand that all blue tarps be removed from houses. They remind me of Katrina. Three dollars for a gallon of gas remind me of Katrina. All gas must now be 2.99 or less. What fraud. I’d rather have the Giant Sloth as a friend than any politician. I know what I’m getting with the Sloth my friend. I’m afraid I just insulted the sloths of the world by comparing them to politicians.

I think the worse thing is of all the social agencies that have come to save the New Orleans area after Katrina, well where are they standing up for these Americans attempting to make a dollar or two. Oh wait, maybe that’s the problem. ACORN, SOUL, COUP et all are only interested in helping those who are UNWILLING to help themselves. Gotcha.

Jesus lives in a Slidell courthouse. Not really but you’d think so according to some folks. I do have a couple questions regarding the picture of Jesus in the courthouse and the ACLU.

Would the ACLU attempt to take down the picture if the Jesus depicted was of the black or latino variety? Cmon, we’ve all seen the Black Jesus and Mexican Jesus pictures. Would the ACLU try to take down the picture then? Doubtful

On the other side, if the picture depicted a Black or Latino Jesus, would the bible thumpers be out in force to demand the picture remain in the courthouse? Would the peeps with 5 teeth, standing with their signs, demand that the picture remain up if Jesus was Latino or Black? That’s doubtful too.

Would I be offended if I went to a courtroom and they had a picture or statue of Buddha staring me down? Probably not but I can see how a Christian might. How come the Christian can’t see how the Buddist could possibly be offended?

I could write about the levees not being ready but yawn. Tell us something we didn’t figure out on our own already.

Tales of the Cocktail starts in two weeks. If you’ve never done the event, get off your ass and get involved. It’s a great time and it’s run by a bunch of great New Orleanians. Get out and support it. Or stay home and watch Morgus re-runs.

FBI Agent Jefferson Friday, Jun 8 2007

Well finally. Not that little dust-up about someone local being corrupt. Resign, who’s gonna replace him blah blah blah. I’m done with that loser. Was actually done with him oh about 20 years ago when he was scamming the city and the state with his “legitimate” businesses. I’m talking about the honorable explanation that half the city has been waiting for. The other half thought and still thinks the “man” is out the get good ole Dollar Bill.I’m too lazy to go get the audio for ya. I’m sure the station will put the video/audio up on the website at some point. But here’s that honorable explanation we’ve all been waiting for:

“Did I bribe a foreign official? Absolutely not. The $90,000 was the FBI’s money. The FBI gave it to me as part of their plan that I would give it to the Nigerian Vice President. But I did not do that”.

Yes Bill we know the 90k was the FBI’s. And we know you didn’t give it to anyone because it was in your freezer.

The sad part of all of this is that some people will still believe him. When Dollar Bill ends up in the federal pen for maybe 150 or 200 years, some members of the black community will still think he’s been setup. This “honorable explanation” does nothing but play into the impression that Bill has helped perpetuate that the white man is out to ruin the black man. He clearly has no problem abusing power but to continue to try and keep the black community in his back pocket says more about the man than any indictment ever could.

I think the good Congressman is onto something here. Honorable explanations for almost any circumstance! Here are a couple, feel free to add your own.

Those bodies are not mine officer, Coroner Frank Minyard ask me to hold them for him.

That was not my marijuana. A blind man with glaucoma asked me to keep it for him.

I did not shoot that man; he walked in front of my loaded gun and asked me to shoot him.

I didn’t take that copper pipe out of your home; the dog spoke to me in the middle of the night and said that I could have it. For free. By tearing it out of your newly plastered walls.

The FBI gave me this machete to go chop up some wood and those people just got in the way of the tree.
